Cheerio, lads and lassies! I'm here in London town on a lovely Saturday morning. We're sitting around the kitchen table, Zelda is making a friendship bracelet with the craft I brought for her. Mark is getting coffee, and Madi is preparing to take Chico the dog for a walk.
It's taking me a little longer to write, since the British keyboard is a bit different from American ones. The SHIFT key on the left is much smaller, and I keep hitting the wrong button, and some of the symbols are in a different location. I'm sure that by the time I get used to using the UK keyboard, it will be time to come home and relearn my own keyboard again.
The plane ride was good. We left Denver at 8:35 p.m., which gave me some time to watch the World Series at a bar on the concourse. When I boarded the plane, the score was 1-1, and I later found out the Rockies lost 2-1, so now it's back to Denver for three games, with the hope that they'll win some games and make the Series interesting.
When I got to Heathrow Airport, I found my way to the Underground, and rode the Tube for 90 minutes, made two transfers, and found my way to Mark's flat by 2:30. Madi and Zelda had just gotten home from their trip to Paris, visiting Jona, so the timing was just right. The map i printed from Google led me to Mark and Madi's place quite easily, and it was tricky with several twists and turns. Also, the Tube was easy enough to figure out, thanks to a website that showed all the routes. Gotta love that Internet!
When I arrived, Mark was working until almost 9:00, so Madi, Zelda, Chico, and I walked through town to buy some things at the shops for dinner. Madi made the classic Fish 'n Chips, and it was delicious. We hung out in the evening, watched the "telly" with Zelda, and chatted with Madi. Once Mark got home, it was late. He has to leave for LA on Monday for a screening of the movie with Universal Studios executives, so we only have today and Sunday to hang out together. Monday Zelda goes back to school, and Madi has to work. so I will have a day on my own to explore and do some sightseeing. Today we are going to London Dungeon, and haunted house ride in South Bank, on Cink Street. That's right near the Lodnon Eye, the Thames, and other sights, so I should be able to take some good pictures.
More to follow. Cheers!
